University Bible Fellowship (UBF) is an evangelical church dedicated to helping each person know and love Jesus, especially through campus outreach. We focus on growing spiritually through Bible study and practical application of God's teachings.
We believe the Bible teaches the following fundamental Christian truths:
In this collective society, one person can easily be ignored. As we learn from the Bible how God helped one person, Abraham, over twenty-five years, and how Jesus, our Lord, helped the Twelve one by one, we are greatly inspired to study the Bible with each student on a one-to-one basis.
This kind of Bible study is costly because it involves investment of one's personal time, love, and care. But we believe what the Bible teaches, that one soul is of greater worth than the whole universe.
In one-to-one Bible study, we usually begin with the Book of Genesis or John's Gospel in order to learn basic Christianity.
We also encourage students to read the Bible daily and to pray regularly using the Daily Bread booklets. Some students meet in small groups once a week to share their personal responses to the word of God.
As Jesus raised disciples from the outset of his ministry, we also pray that God may raise many disciples of Jesus Christ through our prayers and labor of love. For this purpose we hold an annual Summer Bible Conference, Easter Conference, and special one-week Bible school.
In the course of Bible study we learn that our Lord, Jesus Christ, gave his disciples the World Mission Command, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." (Mark 16:15) We pray that God may raise many lay missionaries and send them out to all the nations of the world.
Periodically we go to Bible Conferences and retreats where we have a chance to experience fellowship with believers from around the world, to immerse ourselves in the study of the word of God, and to hear about the world salvation work God is doing.
UBF began in 1961 in Kwangju, Korea, through a cooperative endeavor of the Korean Presbyterian Church and the American Presbyterian Church for Campus Mission. God has blessed UBF ministry to be an international and inter-denominational organization for campus evangelism. So far, God has enabled UBF ministry to send about 1300 lay missionaries to over 87 nations.
